History

Joined the School from the University of Adelaide. Prior to this he had been employed for 7 years as a chemical engineer by AMDEL, a contract research and consulting organisation.

Major research interests

  • Financial management

Use is being made of the recently released Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) Business Longitudinal Survey Confidentialised Unit Record File for a series of related research projects focused on Australian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). Specific matters under investigation include:

  • SME growth and development
  • Identifying growth SMEs
  • SME growth, exporting and innovation
  • SME financial profiles
  • Equity agency costs and SME management/ownership structures
  • SME under - and over-investment
  • SME financing theory
  • Financial slack and the investment and financing decisions of SMEs
