Completed a BCom (accounting and computer science majors) at Flinders in 1998. Robyn then completed an Honours degree and commenced a PhD while working part time in the Schools of Commerce and Informatics and Engineering. Robyn commenced full time teaching in the School of Commerce in 2005. She completed a PhD thesis entitled 'Electronic service quality gaps in the Australian wine industry" in 2005.
Robyn's PhD research resulted in the development of an innovative way of identifying and measuring electronic-service quality (e-SQ) gaps. A survey of Australian winery managers, customers, and websites was conducted and the data analysed using this method. The results indicated that winery managers had a fairly good idea of what customers required, but customer requirements were generally not well represented on winery websites. This work was recently well received by a world wide audience in Europe. Journal and conference papers on this subject.
Robyn plans to develop an interactive web based tool for Australian wineries. It in envisioned that this program will allow winery managers to enter their beliefs about winery website customers requirements and individual winery websites. The user's input will be analysed and a report generated that will show areas that could be improved to result in a more effective Web presence.
Robyn is also working on a longitudinal study investigating the evolving maturity of websites. Data collection is ongoing and is curently in the fifth year.
