News item: FBS re-accreditation
Flinders Business School programs re-accredited by Accounting Professional Bodies.
Representatives of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia and CPA Australia visited Flinders Business School on 12 June 2007 to undertake the regular five-yearly review of the Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) and graduate-entry Bachelor of Accounting degrees.
Both degrees have been re-accredited for the maximum five yearly period.
In their report the representatives noted that “Students expressed a high degree of satisfaction with the quality of teaching they received and the accessibility of staff…” Generic skills undertaken by FBS accounting students through working in small teams and oral presentations were cited as highly valued by employers.
These same degrees were approved in February 2008 as meeting National Institute of Accountants (NIA) membership requirements for Associate status.
